Camping and The Avett Brothers
Brian and I decided to get a way for a couple days and retreat to the glorious Rockies. We have these majesitc beauties in our backyard and only call upon them once a year for some relaxation... that will NOT happen next year I tell you!
It just so happened that one of our FAVORITE bands The Avett Brothers were playing a free concert in Steamboat Springs where it just so happened my brother was working for a week on a job... so of course we just so happened to go for a visit. :)
After the concert, we set up camp just outside of Rabbit Ears pass... I have NEVER seen so many stars in my life. It was almost supernatural.
The next morning we drove to Grand Lake and Rocky Mtn. National park. It felt so refreshing to return to my old stomping grounds after 8 years!
When I was younger, my family used to set up camp many summers in Grand Lake. I will never forget the countless times we drove over Trail Ridge (highest paved road in US) and my mother STILL freaked out and thought we were going to plummet off the side of the mountain... every time! (love you mom :)... but its true and you know it)
I felt I was sharing a part of myself and my life with Brian for the first time.

I wish I had a tripod so I could have taken the next two photos correctly but it still shows just how phenomenal the stars were that night.
you can't touch this... yes that is a shooting star next to Brian

top of the world
I am green thumbed (or trying to be)
If I could, I would spend all the money I earn on plants... so if you are a potential wedding client you must know that your money would be helping replenish the Earth of oxygen. :)
Today I gave myself a specific allotment of time to spend at the local nursery because I do have work to do... and well, I just got to chatting about perennials and annuals with the plant expert and by the time I loaded my new treasures into my jeep, 45 minutes had passed!!! Thats 45 minutes that will be spent making up lost editing time tonight.
I am SUPER proud of my progress thus far. I am no horticulturist but I am having the BEST time raising these little guys from seedlings... I am a mother at last :)
I love my patio garden, especially my cedar boxes Brian built for me

I counted 10 today!
ok, so the basil is taking it's own sweet time... but I know it will be worth it in the end when I make fresh lasagna with it!
Dill
my flower garden on the left, and my chocolate mint on the right!- the mint smells delicous!! :)
Today I planted another batch of cilantro (we ate it all) ... I'll post some pics as soon as they pop up!
What a beautiful day...
