Karleen + Kevin *Wedding*

I will begin this post with one of my favorite poems...

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, - I love thee with the breath;
Smiles, tears, of all my life! - and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

-A poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Karleen and Kevin were just as I expected them to be on their wedding day, kind, gentle and you guessed it, in love.

This particular wedding was very interesting... let me see if I can get this right... Karleen's older sister is married to Kevin's older brother, and Karleen's younger sister is dating Kevin's younger brother, and Kevin and Karleen just got married!!!! What are the odds of THAT happening?!? HA! I love it! Apparently great families attract great families!

These were such sweet, wonderful people. I am honored. Honored to have witnessed such real love between two people. The Look on Kevin's face as Karleen walked down the aisle was so beautifully full of emotion. Some of the most memorable emotions I have caught all year. I wish I could be a fly on the wall in 30 years when Kevin and Karleen look through their wedding photos and are reminded of the feeling of passion and adoration they experienced on that sacred day so long ago.

The gorgeous wedding venue is The Chateaux at Fox Meadows in Denver.

It RAINED on and off all afternoon! We were all a bit nervous it would rain out the ceremony, but after a good 20 minute down pour, out came the sun and these RADIANT rainbows graced the sky! Talk about the right place at the right time!

Favorite of the day!

Cassie + David *Engagement*

Hmmm, its been a while since I posted an engagement shoot. Weddings have been taking over the blog!

I am happy to break the wedding line-up with a fantastic engagement shoot with the sweetest couple.

Cassie and David were an absolute pleasure to photograph. Their interaction with each other was so beautiful. They have been enduring a long distance relationship with Cassie being here in Colorado and David residing in Texas while he is in pilot training for the Air Force. Needless to say I caught some great shots... each embrace and laugh appeared as if it was their first.

Cassie's outfit choices were ADORABLE! I love me some good color and apparently Cassie got that memo! :)

OK- embarrassing photographer story to tell...

Cassie and David got engaged at The Garden of the Gods here in Colorado Springs and requested a few shots there during our time together.

Living in Colorado Springs for 6+ years I was confident we could drive in to the park, snap a few shots, and drive on out.

NOPE! Not what happened...

I proceded to lead us on a 30 min. idiotic drive ALL THE WAY through the park! I guess I wasn't aware that it was "large tour bus day" and "drive 4mph" day at Garden of the Gods. I couldn't pull over becuase well, frankly I am picky and didn't want to just photograph them at the tourist traps of the park, no, I wanted a secluded, unpopular area. But that wasn't happening that day due to the unfortunate situations above and we ended up being dumped off into some podunk tourist center in Manitou Springs.. way off course, and way annoyed and... way embarrassed as I sheepishly crept up to Cassie and David's car window to ask THEM for directions on how the "H E double hockey sticks" to get back to a main road.

We were pressed for time because David had to catch a flight back to Texas in an hour and I decided to give them a tour of Garden of the Gods!!!! Come on! :)

Oh, it was hilarious.

Luckily I caught some wonderful shots of these two in the amount of time we had.

Thanks Cassie and David for enduring my shenanigans and for being so darn photogenic!.....   Can't wait for the wedding! :)
