Ashley + John Denver Engagement Portraits
Much much fun was had with these two. We strolled the streets of Denver's LoHi neighborhood (my old stomping grounds) for a killer Denver skyline backdrop. I recall one of my first photoshoots 7 years ago took place at this same parking garage location boasting such a view. It felt fitting to resurrect this stellar location once again for these two lovebirds who themselves are loyal Denver LoHi dwellers.
We finished up our evening together with a contrasting, yet equally as stellar, classic Colorado sceneic sunset vibe. My favorite of course. :)
Thank you Ashley and John for inviting me into this part of your life for a brief yet lasting moment.
I look forward to doing it all again in a few weeks for your soon to come wedding day!
Enjoy
Joanna's Expecting {Whimsical Maternity}
I often don't photograph expecting women. I have seen so many "maternity sessions" that don't accurately celebrate the often inspiring beauty of pregnancy, that I honestly have turned down almost every inquiry I have received... mostly out of skepticism in my own ability to create the opposite of what I see. I am not competitive by any means so it takes me a while to move beyond my comfort zones in a few areas of my career.
But when I am ready to take on something new, I am intent on success!
I understand not every woman loves being pregnant and not every woman feels they are at the peak of their beauty while expecting, but there is something reverent and profound about capturing the lines and shapes of an expecting woman. A helpless life is forming as that woman prepares for endless years of selfless service to that child... and that deserves to be celebrated through creative imagery.
So to curb my fear of this, I invited my lovely friend Joanna, along with her husband Wes and darling princess Everly, over to our property to be my muses as I prepare to sharpen my skills in this department. My hope is to now offer these types of photo sessions to my clients. Contact me (above) if interested.
Jo definitely made this easy! And with the help of some illegally picked garden roses and a spunky summery hat, I think it was a success!
Thank you Tongue family!!
